the trouble with this hand comes when the flop is Q-10-9, giving you the second best straight. if an oponent is playing K-J, a hand most players would play your simply doomed to lose everything you have. it would take a miracle or a ridiculously good read on your part, to get away from this hand

while its a n excellent hand in black jack, the A-10 doesn t fair nearly so well in texas hold em. heres the problem: if you happen to catch another ace on the flop,A-K,A-Q and A-J will have you beat.add to that, if the flopcomes A-7-4, for example,you ll lose to A-7,A,4,A-A,7-7,and 4-4. the only time you can really feel safe with A-10 is when you flop two pair or make a straight.

it looks like a powerful hand,but you have to be careful with this onewhile.K-Q will be okay much of the time, if someone has raised he pot in front of you, he may hold A-A, K-K, Q-Q, A-K, or A-Q.your hand is totally dominated.if the flop is Q-7-2,you ll have a powerful pair with a powerful kicker, but you ll also be traped. now your forced to put more money in the pot and are doomed against Q-Q,K-K,A-A, or A-Q.

these hands look very apealing because they re two parts of a powerful A-high flush. be carefull though, not to fall in love with drawing hands in no limit, as you ll often be forced to pay and all-in bet to try to complete the flush. another problem with this hand; if your plying Ah-6h and flop an A, your kicker will usually lose to anyon else who is also playing an ace.

its just not a very strong hand and should be folded in the face of a raise.if you catch a K on the flop you have kicker trouble.if you flop the ten,you ll have to worry about A-10 and all of the overpairs: J-J,Q-Q,K-K,and A-A.

Your're dealt J3 un in the big blind. Everyone folds except the small blind. The small blind calls. The flop is J94. Your're sitting with top pair and bet 3X the big blind. The small blind raises. Whats he got? AA? Not likely. He probably would have raised before the flop. KK,QQ ?Same thing. He has JJ, and you know he has a bigger kicker. Maybe you should fold 'em.

Welcome to my poker poker blog. I started play poker in Vegas 48 years ago. After winning three days in a row, I was totally hooked. Now my goal in life is to help other people become as good as I am. In this blog I will share my experiences as a poker player.
