look out

if you are the pre flop agressor and an opponent bets out unexpectedly at the flop, then he is very unlikely to have a monster hand.

fold or complete

if your hand has any showdown potential[suitedness, connectedness,or high card strenth],put in the extra half-bet from the small blind if there are limpers and the blinds are low.

never give up; 'the wrench'

i could sence the stench of the smelly wrench as it worked to free the bolt,to open the lid that held the kid who had suffered a terrible jolt. the kid was dead or rather it was said as the mourners pretend to grieve. every jerk in the lot thought the kid would rot.they didnt know he still had one chip on the table.

top tne trouble hands

top ten trouble hands is taken from "holdem wisdom for all players" by daniel negreanu. this particular book is an easy read and more helpful the many of the poker books i have read.

trouble hand no 1: J-8

the trouble with this hand comes when the flop is Q-10-9, giving you the second best straight. if an oponent is playing K-J, a hand most players would play your simply doomed to lose everything you have. it would take a miracle or a ridiculously good read on your part, to get away from this hand

trouble hand no 2: A-10

while its a n excellent hand in black jack, the A-10 doesn t fair nearly so well in texas hold em. heres the problem: if you happen to catch another ace on the flop,A-K,A-Q and A-J will have you beat.add to that, if the flopcomes A-7-4, for example, you ll lose to A-7,A,4,A-A,7-7,and 4-4. the only time you can really feel safe with A-10 is when you flop two pair or make a straight.
