never give up; 'the wrench'

i could sence the stench of the smelly wrench as it worked to free the bolt,to open the lid that held the kid who had suffered a terrible jolt. the kid was dead or rather it was said as the mourners pretend to grieve. every jerk in the lot thought the kid would rot.they didnt know he still had one chip on the table.

top tne trouble hands

top ten trouble hands is taken from "holdem wisdom for all players" by daniel negreanu. this particular book is an easy read and more helpful the many of the poker books i have read.

trouble hand no 1: J-8

the trouble with this hand comes when the flop is Q-10-9, giving you the second best straight. if an oponent is playing K-J, a hand most players would play your simply doomed to lose everything you have. it would take a miracle or a ridiculously good read on your part, to get away from this hand

trouble hand no 2: A-10

while its a n excellent hand in black jack, the A-10 doesn t fair nearly so well in texas hold em. heres the problem: if you happen to catch another ace on the flop,A-K,A-Q and A-J will have you beat.add to that, if the flopcomes A-7-4, for example, you ll lose to A-7,A,4,A-A,7-7,and 4-4. the only time you can really feel safe with A-10 is when you flop two pair or make a straight.

trouble hand no 3: K-Q

it looks like a powerful hand, but you have to be careful with this onewhile.K-Q will be okay much of the time, if someone has raised he pot in front of you, he may hold A-A, K-K, Q-Q, A-K, or A-Q.your hand is totally dominated.if the flop is Q-7-2,you ll have a powerful pair with a powerful kicker, but you ll also be traped. now your forced to put more money in the pot and are doomed against Q-Q,K-K,A-A, or A-Q.

trouble hand no 4:A-X suited

these hands look very apealing because they re two parts of a powerful A-high flush. be carefull though, not to fall in love with drawing hands in no limit, as you ll often be forced to pay and all-in bet to try to complete the flush. another problem with this hand; if your plying Ah-6h and flop an A, your kicker will usually lose to anyon else who is also playing an ace.

trouble hand no 5: K-10

its just not a very strong hand and should be folded in the face of a raise.if you catch a K on the flop you have kicker trouble.if you flop the ten,you ll have to worry about A-10 and all of the overpairs: J-J,Q-Q,K-K,and A-A.

trouble hand no 6: A-J

A-J is ideal for winning small pots but destined to lose big ones unless uou make a straight, flush or two pair. if the flop comes, say, A-8-3, and your oponent makes a big bet,you ll be forced to play a guessing game. does he have A-K or A-Q? did he flop two pair or maybe three of a kind? unfortunately, with A-J you ll often be guessing more and winning less.

trouble hand no7 Q-9

the problem here is the same you faced with the J-8.when a flop comesK-J-10,you ll be doomed to you lose all of your moneyto a player with A-Q. on top of that if you hit your pair of queens, your kicker will almost surely be beat

trouble hand no 8.K-J

this is known as the rookie hand. it seems to good to fold but not strong enough to raise with.as a general no limit hold em rule, if its notgood enough to raise with then its not goo enough to callwith.the big problem with K-J is that it is dominated by too many handsyour oponents would likely play:A-A,K-K,Q-Q,J-J,A-k and A-J.

trouble hand no 9 , JJ

its the fourth best poket pair in th deck, but when someone else puts it all in against you,the decision with poket jj is tough.even if you call correctly, and your oponent has a hand lik A-K,youl still only win the pot a little more than half the time.if you guess wrong, and your oponent is holdingQ-Q,K-K,A-A, well then your a 4 to one underdog.

trouble hand no 10

AQ is a strong hand in most situtions but when it is up against AK it is a 3 to 1 underdog.
